132. Where Are We? (Part 2)

Why is London so trendy?
Near Canary Wharf the asthma levels among children are twice the national average. US health studies show that soot particles known as PM10's kill 2000 people prematurely every year in cities like London, from heart attacks and respiratory problems. Sometimes the level goes as high as 140 to even 150 parts per billion.

SIX DEADLY TOXINS

An over-the average cloud hanging over London is made-up of a deadly combination of nitrogen dioxide and the tiny particles of soot and dust PM10s. The main source of both pollutants is London's traffic, with industry contributing a tiny amount.
The pollutants have become trapped in the Thames basin by the current cold, windless weather conditions. There are six main pollutants caused by traffic emissions. NP
